Philips island
On a sunny mid afternoon ,my family and I set out for a full day road drive to Philips island,
it took an hour and 15 minutes's drive from melbourne, victoria to reach our destination.
Our goal was to have a wildlife experience viewing thousands of tiny blue fairy penguins swimming to the shore after dark, after a whole day's catch of fishes from the deep blue sea,
They swim as far as 2km out to the sea to obtain good catches,
Its pretty cool how tiny they are,yet have so much energy to substain inside the sea, hunting, gobbling, and walking back wearily step by step to their burrows,
And regurgitate the fishes out to feed their babies.

The world's number one smallest penguin~

They walk by groups, very much full of group spirit! when one who walks too fast in front, it would stop, stare back, and wait for other slow coaches to follow up.cute,no? :]
this is how a blue penguin looks like!very tiny, very ovally, it looks rather mischevious. And its not tame. If you touch them, they'll bite right away.

A man-made burrow

Sat from 7.30pm to 9.15pm on the bleaches. The night was quite chilly during summer(Around 13c).
Pink cotton skies, but its kind of chilly that night, everyone is either in three or two layers wrap
Everybody were braving out in the cold ,waiting for the tiny creatures. And two hyperactive kids kept kicking my back.goodness. I was so tired of telling them to stop.I just sulked quietly by myself-.-
First, you watch them come ashore at the bleaches,
Second, you could observe them more closely by standing on the man-made trails, while they walk back to their burrows on the small hills,
Third, you might even spot a penguin or two on the carpark/under the car, if so happens, contact the nearest rangers, they'll be helpful to lead the penguin away.
philips island has other wildlife centres as well, such as the seal-watching centre, noobies centre, koala reserve centre, a chocolate factory, these are the places where you could visit before your last stop for the penguins parade. :)

The other side of the world where heaven sets
