Giga pudding on mooncake festival

On 12th of September, its was mooncake festival for all chinese in conjunction to this celebration, it was too, my mum's birthday, Happy birthday Mom!
2 weeks before her birthday, I mailed a box of ferrero Rocher chocolate and a pair of pricey golden bow hairclips to her via post express,
It arrived just on time on her birthday, Thanks Postman! *wave*

Next,
I decided to try my 2nd attempt to create a similar appearance of the Japanese Giga pudding(Refer 5 posts back).
This was how it appeared that night,

I made it in the morning, which was an hour before I left for my thursday lecture,
The above homemade giga pudding is roughly around 15 cm in width and 15cm in height.
The about Size of a yoghurt bucket.

The Recipe is simple and quick,

Note:The below ingredients are extracted from the original source, which serves around 3~4 portions,

Caramel Topping(A): (Optional)
-Any desirable amount of caster/fine sugar
-Water

Custard Mix (B):
-400 ml of milk
-1 tspn Vanilla essence
- 1 pckt. gelatine
-30g sugar
-2 eggyolks

Utensils:
-Strainer
- 2 bowls
-Fork
-Any mould that could substain 500ml of liquid.
-Saucepot ( Caution: Do Not use non-stick pans/pot)

Procedure (A): (optional)
1.Pour sugar into saucepot and gradually add water, bring it to boil until caramel is golden brown and sticky. Pour into mould.

Procedure (B):
1. Mix milk + egg yolk, in a sepearate bowl, add gelatine with sugar
2. Add a portion of the milk mixture +gelatine mixture, pour in the remaining milk mixture after gelatine +milk is thoroughly combined. Add Vanilla essence. Strain the custard mixture.
2. Pour the custard mixture into a saucepot and warm it using low heat for a shortwhile. DO NOT BRING IT TO BOIL.
3. Remove from stove and pour custard mixture slowly into mould containing caramel.
4. Chill in refrigerator until set. Estimated time: 6 hours. The longer it is, the firmer it sets.

I chilled the huge giga pudding from 9.30am to 8.30pm (Approx. 11 hours) as it was huge, hehes..

Later, shopped at jusco supermarket for the whole afternoon and went back to the dorm to cook chicken wings, mix vegetables and japanese tofu together with Eunice and Heong yee for the gang in the evening. While Simon contributed a heart soup, luncheon meat, soya chicken slices and fried eggs. And Ah xiang's mum was really generous, he brought a dish of soya meat and bamboo shoot.
It was a fun night :),
Played lanterns and candle, ate mooncakes and stared at a moon partially blinded by the clouds LOL. xp
Chit chatted about jokes and ghost stories,
and We moved to Mcdonalds for supper,
then, I headed to heong yee's house for a nights' sleepover.

Bestwishes,
Whiteglitters
